Fangtasia
Fangtasia, located in Shreveport, Louisiana, is the tourist bar owned and operated by Eric Northman and his child, Pam. The 'bar with bite', as it is often called, is a place where humans can get 'up close' to a vampire which Eric necessitates by employing several vampires as staff. The bar has been featured many times in the book series and is an integral part of Eric's character. Fangtasia also serves as the frontend cover for Eric's political status in the vampire world, earning him great value and power within the vampire community.
The name 'Fangtasia' comes from a play on the word 'Fantasia' (the Disney animated feature) and Bill describes it being a 'pun' which was once a good form of humour.

The Real Fangtasia
Although 'Fangtasia' is meant to be in Shreveport, Louisiana, the actual bar used for filming True Blood scenes is called 'Alex's Bar' and is located in Los Angeles.
The bar has also been used for filming the movie Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny.
